Job summary

Sarge’s Delicatessen & Diner in New York, NY is seeking an energetic Cashier/Phone Order Taker to warmly greet guests, handle payments, and take phone orders with accuracy. You will learn our menu quickly, use Toast POS, and work with a friendly team to ensure fast, friendly service in a lively restaurant setting.

Part-time position with opportunities to grow within the team. Prior hospitality experience is a plus; strong English communication, cash handling, and multitasking are desired

• Able to learn menu quickly and accurately.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with their needs in a courteous manner.
• Answer guest inquiries regarding menu items, specials, or services with enthusiasm and clarity.
• Take cash, credit and other payments with accuracy.
• Take phone orders efficiently and accurately using Toast POS in a friendly, informative manner.
• Collaborate with coworkers to ensure guest satisfaction and smooth service; ask questions when needed.
• Multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment and work independently as required.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization at the cashier station to promote a welcoming environment.
• Experience with Toast is desirable and knowledge of restaurant operations is a plus.
