Job summary

Il Fornaio is seeking a friendly and professional restaurant server to greet guests, take and relay orders, and ensure a positive dining experience. You will greet guests, discuss menu items, and answer questions about ingredients and preparation.

You will also upsell beverages and manage proper checkout with the POS system. The role requires prior restaurant or customer service experience, fluent English, and the ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a restaurant or customer service role.
• Ability to read and interpret menus and safety rules.
• Ability to write simple correspondence and communicate clearly in person and groups.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests promptly, suggest courses, and answer questions about food and beverages.
• Explain wine and beverage options and pairings to guests.
• Relay orders to stations via POS system and ensure accurate delivery.
• Deliver food and beverages, garnish as needed, and maintain guest satisfaction.
• Handle billing and payment processing, and thank guests on departure.
• Perform sidework to keep the restaurant clean and well stocked.
• Collaborate with team to uphold company values of honesty, integrity, respect, commitment and quality.
