Job summary

Kenosha Stein's Garden & Home is seeking a Department Lead in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The role partners with the management team to deliver exceptional customer service, supervise staff, and uphold the company’s MVV while driving sales and product knowledge.

The Department Lead will train associates, foster teamwork, and adapt leadership styles to meet business needs. A friendly, professional, and proactive attitude is essential for this non-exempt, in-store position.

Qualifications

• Exceptional leadership qualities, while remaining approachable, confident and knowledgeable.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to train and develop sales associates.
• Possess time-management skills and multi-tasking abilities.
• Great organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Possess the ability to adapt and change based upon specific situations.
• Ability to interpret documents such as reports, training materials, operations manual, and other documents.
• Horticulture knowledge (Preferred).
• Skills in operating personal computers, POS systems, and various software packages (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer experience by greeting and assisting customers and maintaining high service standards.
• Train and coach associates in all aspects of the business.
• Adapt management style to achieve desired results.
• Foster a respectful work environment for all associates.
• Efficiently manage staff to maintain customer experience.
• Ensure a clean, safe work environment and proper merchandise presentation.
• Ensure policies are followed per company guidelines.
• Monitor inventory, on-hand counts, and incoming goods.
