Varnish Lane, founded in Washington DC, seeks friendly front desk associates to deliver an exceptional client experience across three DC-area locations: Friendship Heights, West End, and Mt. Vernon Triangle.

You’ll travel between shops as needed, maintaining hospitality, cleanliness, and brand standards to welcome every guest. Ideal candidates have 1+ years in retail or hospitality, with salon/spa experience a bonus.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in retail or hospitality.
• Salon/spa experience is a bonus.
• Willing to travel between DC locations.
• Educate clients on services, upgrades and retail products.
• Commitment to natural, waterless, non-toxic care.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a positive, welcoming and personable disposition with clients.
• Handle client feedback in real-time with a calm demeanor.
• Assist the shop manager with follow-up when the manager is not available.
• Educate clients on services, upgrades and retail products.
• Act as a brand ambassador for Varnish Lane and our care standards.
• Lead the operational flow of the shop and support nail stylists.
• Multitask and stay calm when busy.
• Assist with sterilization of implements and restocking towels.
• Master our appointment and POS systems.
• Communicate promotions and merchandising standards to clients.
• Uphold cleanliness and tidiness throughout your shift.
