Job summary

Via 313 is seeking a Host/Hostess to welcome guests with a friendly, warm, and positive first impression. You will greet guests, manage reservations or waitlists, provide menus, and guide them to seats.

Responsibilities include answering questions, seating guests, and ensuring satisfaction with food and service, while supporting the team and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere reflecting our Detroit-inspired brand.

Qualifications

• Previous hosting experience preferred.
• Excellent oral communication skills.
• Positive interpersonal skills.
• Must speak English fluently and be able to write in basic English.
• Valid Food Handlers Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Greeting guests as they enter and putting them on a waiting list as necessary.
• Providing guests with menus and answering any initial questions.
• Seating guests at tables or in waiting areas.
• Assign guests to tables they prefer while keeping rotation in mind.
• Engage with guests to ensure they're happy with food and service.
• Respond to complaints and help resolve them.
• Answer phone calls, take reservations and answer questions.
• Knowledge of the menu.
• Help out with other positions in the restaurant as needed.
• Provide excellent customer service.
