Moby Dick House of Kabob is looking for a friendly, reliable cashier to join our team in a fast-paced setting. You will handle transactions, assist customers with menu choices, and ensure orders are completed accurately to create a memorable dining experience.

The role requires strong customer service skills, basic math, and reliability. Flexible availability including evenings and weekends is preferred to support peak hours and busy days at our Washington, DC location.

Qualifications

• Previous cashier or customer service experience preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
• Basic math skills and the ability to handle cash accurately.
• Reliable, punctual, and a team player.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist with menu selections.
• Accurately process customer transactions using the point-of-sale (POS) system, including cash, credit, and other forms of payment.
• Ensure all orders are entered correctly and delivered to the appropriate team members.
• Maintain a clean and organized cashier station and dining area.
• Assist with packing and handing off takeout and delivery orders.
• Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally, escalating issues to the manager when necessary.
• Monitor inventory of front-end supplies, such as napkins, utensils, and sauces, and replenish as needed.
• Follow health and safety guidelines, including proper handling of food and maintaining a clean workspace.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient restaurant operations.
