DIVISION: Inn at Perry Cabin DEPARTMENT: Activities Department

REPORTS TO: Guest Experience Manager CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt / Seasonal

Position Summary

He/she will be the greeter to guests in all areas, providing a constant picture-perfect experience. He/she will

prepare, clean, stock, administer, and maintain this throughout his/her shift covering the courts, water activities,

offsite excursions, group team building, private requests, pool, tennis, and other activity areas. He/she will be

involved with implementation of new recreational and social programs for guests of all ages, while providing a

safe and clean environment. He/she will also assist the pool attendants when needed. The following is a

Summary Of The Major Responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Be able to work alone and multitask, attending to opening and closing procedures while attending to

guest’s needs. Being able to anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests,

keeping continuous attention to the guests, continuing to react before the guests find themselves inquiring,

being attentive to guest’s timeline.

  • Promote and administer/create new programs for all ages. Oversee guest and team activities as assigned

by the Guest Experience Manager. (i.e. movie night, kayaks, crafts, s’mores, games, tours, fitness classes,

lectures, etc...).

  • Check and record for safety and preventive maintenance of equipment and facilities/grounds.
  • Work with the Guest Experience Manager to maintain the proper levels of inventory for recreational

equipment and supplies. Microsoft/Computer and Resort Suite skills (enter and keep accurate and daily

records, post charges to appropriate accounts; transfer charges/credits; run necessary computer reports).

  • Create new activities, improving suggestions on current schedule to be actively involved with the constant

growth within the Activity Department

  • Be able to maintain friendly energy through hot climate to rainy days, from slow days to busy non-stop

days, with anticipation and use proper procedures towards handling guest’s issues and concerns.

  • Maintain knowledge of hotel features/services, outlets, hours of operation, etc.
  • Practice emergency procedures in compliance with hotel/company standards i.e., CPR/First Aid; react and

assist in hotel emergency situations as needed.

  • Be always an ambassador of the hotel and the company, in and outside of the workplace.
  • Observe policy standards for the department in image, appearance, hygiene, and grooming; properly

represent the company and the profession to outside organizations and the community.

  • Be knowledgeable of, implement, communicate, and comply with policies and standards of Inn at Perry

Cabin, Preferred Hotels, Capital Property, LQA And Forbes Standards.

  • Maintain confidentiality and security of all guest and general hotel information.
  • Assist in other areas and departments as needed, promoting, and maintaining strong lines of

communication and teamwork.

  • Be able to market and advertise our current activities for guests as well as for group/social events:

Activities - court games, kayak/paddle boards, bingo, movies, tours, crafts, lectures, tastings, group

activities and team building, etc.

Equipment and Areas (grounds/facilities) to Be Used

  • Standard facility equipment, including telephone, computer, printer/copier, furniture, floating devises, golf

cart, etc.

  • Activities (including but not limited to equipment used in Activity Department, kayaks, standup paddle

boards, waterfront, croquet, bocce, cornholes, games, crafts, fitness equipment knowledge).

  • A set uniform will be required to be worn and kept clean.

Physical & Mental Requirements

  • Regularly required to stand for long periods of time, walk, talk and hear in tight and noisy places; frequently

required to reach with hands and arms above head; balance, stoop, kneel and crouch. Requires normal range

of hearing and vision with a lot of surrounding external noise (average 8-10 hours shifts).

  • Requires manual dexterity sufficient to handle cups, plates, silverware, to kayaks, yard games, and wet/fit

towels. Must be able to continuously lift at least 50 pounds and push, pull, and move equipment, supplies,

etc., in excess of 150 pounds.

Work Environment

  • Entirety of property—exposure to direct sunlight, high humidity, extremes of heat and cold, noise, grease,

cleaning and polishing agents; potentially slippery floors; and other mother nature exposures

(weather/insects/animals).

  • The work environment may involve varying conditions and circumstances with guests, staff, visitors,

government agencies, etc.

Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED, 21 or older (preferred due to alcoholic activities).
  • Activity skill traits, experience, certification in specific areas is preferred
  • Experience in the leisure, food, and recreation hospitality business with customer service in a high-paced

and detail-oriented facility.

  • CPR/AED, TIPS Certified, First-Aid, Lifeguard Knowledge
  • Administrative, organizational, and supervisory skills desirable.
  • Upon hire will need to complete Human Resources training, other department awareness/training, golf

cart training, as well as addition training pertaining to the current season

Compensation Range

The compensation for this position is $15.00/Hr. - $15.00/Hr. based on qualifications and experience.
