Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance (DZCA) seeks a Part-Time Guest Engagement Zoo Educator to deliver public programming in Animal Experience areas, contribute to conservation education, and lead interpretive talks for diverse audiences.

The role involves dynamic program delivery, guest interaction, and maintaining safety in animal spaces, with emphasis on community engagement and education.

Qualifications

• Experience providing outstanding customer service to diverse audiences.
• Exposure to working with multigenerational audiences or students in a professional setting preferred, with strong group management skills.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate mission-aligned learning through dynamic delivery of pre-written programs; greet guests, communities and diverse audiences; support conservation-based education programs; encourage exploration in natural spaces.
• Lead pre-written, guest-facing programs across spaces; public speaking for large/small groups; ensure safety in animal spaces; activate conservation-learning spaces.
• Operate biofacts carts, activity stations, or free-form play to engage guests.
• Adapt facilitation techniques for different audiences and circumstances.
• May handle live animals and biofacts (animal specimens).
• Provide clear, professional communication with staff; coordinate with program leaders about needs and schedules; represent DZCA in the community.
