Sonesta International Hotels is seeking a dedicated bartender/barback to deliver exceptional beverages and guest service at our New York properties. You will welcome guests, prepare cocktails and wine, manage setup and inventory, and ensure accurate payments.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• 2+ years experience as bartender or barback.
• Food Handling Certificate.
• TIPS certification.
• Proficient in English (spoken and written).
• Able to lift to 25 lbs. or more and stand for 8–10 hours.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests, take orders, and serve drinks and food using upselling techniques.
• Prepare beverages per recipe, including cocktails, coffee drinks, and wine service.
• Manage bar setup, cleanliness, restocking, and closing duties.
• Maintain inventory levels, track usage, place orders, and monitor waste.
• Ensure compliance with liquor laws, health regulations, and safety standards.
• Operate POS system, handle payments, and perform accurate cash handling duties.
• Provide guest information about menu items and hotel services.
• Handle guest complaints professionally to ensure satisfaction.
• Assist with private events, and other service areas as needed.
