Responsibilities

• Cashier/Checker greets customers and assists customers.
• Process transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand POS system and handle tenders (Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, coupons) according to policy.
• Adhere to company limits on cash shortages/overages and loss prevention.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures.
• Identify unsafe conditions and notify management; reinforce safety programs.
• Inspect equipment and report repairs as needed.
• Create a welcoming environment and assist customers with product questions.
• Follow local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in high-paced environments and manage conflicts.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues.
• Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
