Job summary

Family Fresh Market in Saint Peter, MN is seeking a part-time associate to provide friendly guest service in-store and over the phone. You will handle cash registers, assist with self-checkouts, and help guests with questions while maintaining store standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and gives priority to candidates with retail experience and strong communication skills. Benefits include PTO, holidays, healthcare, and a 401(k) with employer match.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• One year of prior retail or related experience preferred.
• Good verbal communication skills; ability to interact politely and effectively with customers.
• Good customer service and organizational skills; detail-oriented. Good reading, writing and arithmetic skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous guest service in person or by telephone; answer incoming calls to the retail store and direct calls to the appropriate department and assist with guest questions in store.
• Perform/process guest services transactions such as credits, over-rings, refunds, lottery ticket sales, money orders/transfers (Western Union), media related purchases, etc. in accordance with Company policies.
• Operate cash register to itemize customer purchases and assist guests with self-checkouts; handles a variety of products which may include dry groceries, frozen foods, dairy products, produce, poultry, fish, beef and pork products.
• Process financial transactions including, but not limited to; cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, rain checks, voids, and coupons; and bag customer purchases.
• Maintain understanding of current store programs and product locations.
• Understand use of check-stand equipment (register, self-checkouts) and its efficient operation.
• Comply with Company policies regarding security, cash handling/cash drawer accounting procedures, product handling (i.e., damaged/spoiled products), the sale of alcohol and tobacco products, etc.
• Communicate the Company programs (i.e., loyalty program, scans, etc.), in-store specials and coupons to customers, and models high standards of service to achieve a customer oriented store.
• Maintain a clean and well-stocked department; ensure the department complies with Company safety and sanitation procedures and standard.
• Notify the department lead or manager of any issues with pricing, cash registers, etc.
• Follow all PPE and Safety Guidelines
• Follow all Food Safety and Cleaning Expectations
• Follow Guest Experience Guidelines
• May be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer experience need
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed

COMPENSATION: Hourly rate $14.00 - $17.50 depending on experience.
