Empowered to make shopping quick and easy for guests at checklanes, guest services, gift registry, pick-up, and drive-up while ensuring exceptional quality.

The Role of a Guest Advocate

This role provides you with skills and experience in:

  • Communicating and interacting with guests to build an inclusive guest experience
  • Problem solving and decision making to positively impact the guest experience and resolve concerns
  • Adapting to different guest interactions and situations
  • Promoting and engaging around various benefits, offerings, and services
Typical Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate a service culture prioritizing the guest experience by delivering the service standard
  • Create a welcoming experience by authentically greeting all guests
  • Observe body language and verbal cues to understand guest needs and tailor your approach
  • Engage with guests to understand their needs and assist accordingly
  • Be knowledgeable about store tools, products, and services to resolve issues and improve experiences
  • Thank guests sincerely and acknowledge their choice to shop at Target
  • Scan and bag items efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with safety standards
  • Minimize guest wait times while maintaining service quality
  • Inform guests about current and upcoming store events and launches
  • Promote Target Loyalty programs and assist with sign-up
  • Show guests how to use Wallet and other app features
  • Assist with fulfillment services, directing guests to enroll and use them
  • Handle returns and partner with leadership to resolve issues
  • De-escalate negative situations and recover shopping experiences
  • Deliver accurate service for Order Pick Up, Drive Up, and Registry guests
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Stock supplies and be available for guests during store hours
  • Follow safety, ethical, and compliance policies
  • Support guest services like order pick-up, Drive-up, and related duties
  • Perform additional duties as needed

  • Reliable attendance and mobility for shifts
