Job summary

Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. seeks a full-time Guardrail Repair Technician to join the Alexandria, VA team. You will perform highway maintenance tasks, repair guardrails and signs, handle debris removal, and assist with concrete work.

The role requires at least 2 years of related experience and the ability to operate Wheel Loader, Skidsteer, Forklift and other equipment. Schedule is Monday–Friday 7:30am–4pm with occasional night/weekend work and potential overtime.

GUARDRAIL REPAIR TECHNICIAN

Position Summary

Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking full-time Guardrail Repair Technicians to perform highway maintenance operations in the Northern Virginia area. This position is based in Alexandria, VA and requires performing a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance, debris removal, sign and guardrail repair, concrete repair, etc. as well as adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures.

Salary: $17-$21/hr depending on experience, licenses and certifications.

Schedule: Full time; Monday - Friday 7:30am-4pm, day shift, with some night and weekend work if needed. Must be able to work during snow and ice events. Occasional overtime available.

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of related experience
• Roadway or guardrail maintenance experience
• Concrete forming/repair experience
• Wheel Loader, Skidsteer, ForkLift, Asphalt Roller, etc operator

Preferred Experience

• Roadway maintenance experience
• MOT Certifications (traffic control)
• Clean driving record is essential
• Must pass criminal background check
• CDL License a plus

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)
• Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
• Carry out simple arithmetic functions
• Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
• Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
• Ability to use smart phone and applications
• Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
• Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds repeatedly while twisting; other strenuous manual labor may be required
• Ability to operate hand/power tools
