Job summary

Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is seeking a full-time Guardrail Maintenance Technician to support highway maintenance operations in the Houston/Porter, TX area.

The role involves supervising crews performing debris removal, guardrail and sign repair, concrete work, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations as well as company policies.

Candidates should have at least 2 years highway experience, operate heavy equipment, and pass background checks; CDL is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of highway related experience.
• Roadway or guardrail maintenance experience.
• Concrete forming/repair experience.
• Operator of wheel loader, skidsteer, forklift, asphalt roller, etc.

Responsibilities

• Supervise crews performing highway maintenance, debris removal, sign and guardrail repair, concrete repair.

Position summary:

Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking full-timeGuardrail Maintenance Technicians to perform highway maintenance operations in the Houston,Texasarea. This position is based in Porter, TX and requires performing a variety of tasks related to the supervision of crews performing highway maintenance, debris removal, sign and guardrail repair, concrete repair, etc. as well as adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures.

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of highway related experience
• Roadway or guardrail maintenance experience
• Concrete forming/repair experience
• Wheel Loader,Skidsteer, ForkLift, Asphalt Roller, etc operator

Preferred Experience

• Experience with projects using TxDOT standard specifications
• Roadway construction or maintenance experience
• MOT Certifications (traffic control)
• Clean driving record is essential
• Must pass criminal background check
• CDL License a plus

Qualifications

• Construction management experience/education a plus
• High School Diploma/GED
• Maintain companystandards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)
• Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
• Carry out simple arithmetic functions
• Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
• Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
• Ability to use smart phone and applications
• Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
• Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions
• Capable of lifting up to 75 pounds repeatedly while twisting; other strenuous manual labor may be required
• Ability to operate hand/power tools

Schedule

Full time; Monday - Friday 7:30am-4pm, day shift, with some night and weekend work if needed. Must be able to work during snow and ice events. Occasional overtime available.
