Job summary

Hawai'i State Judiciary seeks a Social Service Assistant IV to provide intake and ongoing supportive services for adult wards under guardianship. The role includes fieldwork, client transport to appointments, and coordination with families and service providers in order to safeguard welfare and access to benefits and identification documents.

The position requires a high school diploma and three years of related experience or acceptable substitutions.

Qualifications

• High school graduation required.
• Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in providing supportive services... (or equivalent experience)
• Substitutions allowed: college training substituting for experience; certificate/diploma substitutions may apply.
• Selective certification: valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Provide intake and ongoing support services to adult wards under guardianship.
• Conduct investigations of wards' residences to locate documents and assets; coordinate with family, caregivers, and service providers.
• Assist with applications for public benefits and identification documents.
• Perform extensive fieldwork, assess living conditions and wellbeing, ensure safety and access to services.
• Transport and accompany wards to medical appointments, court appearances, and other essential activities; prepare reports and documentation; maintain client records.
