Job summary

Electronic Arts seeks an Anti-Cheat Operations Engineer I to monitor and defend our games from cheaters, working in a SOC-like environment within the SPEAR team. You will investigate cheating reports, leverage threat intel, and improve detection quality across EA’s games.

You’ll collaborate with engineers, triage enforcement appeals, and help advance UGX protection in a fast-paced gaming ecosystem. A passion for fair play and learning new tech is essential.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as a SOC Tier 1 analyst with SIEM
• Knowledge of PC cheats, modding, external/internal cheats, wall hacks, aimbots, etc.
• Basic OS fundamentals (processes, threads, memory)
• Able to explain complex topics to tech and non-tech audiences
• Identify gaps and locate sources to close them
• Safely handle potentially malicious software
• Quick to pick up new technical skills
• Excellent verbal and written English skills

Responsibilities

• Monitor anti-cheat operations dashboards
• Investigate suspected cheating activity
• Gather threat intelligence to support anti-cheat and UGX protection
• Perform triage and investigations of enforcement appeals
• Collaborate with engineers to improve detections
• Plan work related to anti-cheat operations and investigations
• Communicate progress and blockers clearly
• Document anti-cheat operations topics clearly
• Identify needs and improve anti-cheat processes
• Lead development of anti-cheat technical skills
