Job summary

Statewide Guardian ad Litem Office in Florida is seeking a Child Advocate Manager to supervise a team of Guardian Ad Litem volunteers and coordinate with the multidisciplinary team to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children in dependency court. Responsibilities include gathering case information, preparing court reports, providing testimony, and participating in hearings.

A bachelor's degree in a social science and a Florida driver’s license are preferred; certification

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related social science is preferred; experience may meet the requirement.
  • Two years of experience in child welfare, social services, counseling or supervising volunteers is desirable but not required.
  • Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Guardian ad Litem Office volunteers and coordinate with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Gather and document independent case information for each child.
  • Provide best interests advocacy recommendations to the team and the court.
  • Prepare written reports to the court and provide testimony when needed.
  • Attend internal and external case-related hearings, depositions and meetings.
  • Visit assigned children, families and service providers; maintain records in the database.
