Job summary

The Statewide Guardian ad Litem Office in Florida seeks a Child Advocate Manager to oversee a team of Guardian Ad Litem volunteers and coordinate with a multidisciplinary group of professionals. You will gather case information, provide best interests recommendations, and prepare court reports.

A Florida Driver’s License and a pathway to certification are required. You will lead advocacy, mentor staff and volunteers, and participate in trainings and case-related hearings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in sociology, social work, psychology or related social science.
• Two years of experience in child welfare, social services, counseling, teaching or supervising volunteers.
• Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License and obtain Child Advocate Manager Certification within 12 months.
• Candidates may have prior related roles; exception possible.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Guardian Ad Litem Office volunteers assigned to cases.
• Provide best interests advocacy recommendations to court and partners.
• Prepare written reports for the court and provide testimony.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team including DCF, law enforcement, and schools.
• Visit children, families, and service providers to gather information.
