Job summary

Brightwheel is seeking a data-focused professional to join a distributed team across the US, working on entity resolution and data consolidation between our proprietary database and Salesforce. You will own the end-to-end process of merging records, validating results, and documenting rules so the Sales team can trust the data for decisions.

Ideal candidates will have experience with GTM data, SQL, deduplication, and AI-driven enrichment, plus a track record of building scalable Google Sheets

Qualifications

  • Experience with go-to-market data such as lead lists, account and contact records, lifecycle stages, territories, or ownership.
  • Familiar with churn, closed lost, and cold leads concepts.
  • Able to clean, deduplicate, or reconcile records across multiple systems and explain matching logic.
  • Built advanced Google Sheets workflows (lookups, array formulas, pivots, query functions, or scripts).
  • Ability to analyze data to identify root causes and themes, not just fix individual records.
  • Documented a process clearly so others can run it.

Responsibilities

  • Map how contact and account records relate across our database and Salesforce, tracing chains to determine duplicates and connected records.
  • Consolidate related records into a single trusted entity that indicates status, owner, and product.
  • Validate each consolidated record and assign confidence levels for quick trust by Sales.
  • Use Google Sheets, SQL, and AI tools at scale with human verification when needed.
  • Document patterns, edge cases, and decision rules to create a repeatable process.
  • Escalate data problems to Operations and Product to fix root causes at the source.

Job description

Our Mission and Opportunity

Early education is one of the most important determinants of childhood outcomes, a critical support for working families, and a $175B market that remains underserved by modern technology. Brightwheel is the largest, fastest growing, and most loved platform in early ed, trusted by millions of educators and families every day. We are a three-time Cloud 100 company https://www.forbes.com/lists/cloud100/a, backed by top investors including Addition, Bessemer, Emerson Collective, Lowercase Capital, Notable Capital, and Mark Cuban.

Our Team

Our team is passionate, talented, and customer-focused. We embody our Leadership Principles https://mybrightwheel.com/about/ in our work and culture. We are a distributed team with remote employees across every US time zone, as well as select offices in the US and internationally.

Who You Are

You're a curious, methodical problem solver who gets satisfaction from making a chaotic system make sense. You're fluent in go-to-market language, you're energized by a good puzzle, and you care that the answer you land on is right, not just fast.

You will thrive here if you dive into the details and aren't satisfied until you understand how the records actually connect and why. You will thrive here if you take ownership of the whole job, including the unglamorous parts like edge cases, documentation, and handoff. You will thrive here if you move quickly and make defensible calls with imperfect information, and you write down your reasoning so others can check it.

What You'll Do
  • - Map how contact and account records relate across our proprietary database and Salesforce, tracing long chains of linked records to determine which ones describe the same center.
  • - Consolidate related records into a single, trusted center record that answers four questions: is it an active customer, churned, closed lost, or a cold lead; who owns it today; and which product does it use.
  • - Validate every center you build and assign a confidence level, so Sales knows what can be trusted immediately and what needs a human look.
  • - Use Google Sheets, SQL where it helps, and AI tools to work at scale, and know where automated output needs human verification.
  • - Document the patterns, edge cases, and decision rules you discover, and turn them into a repeatable process the team can run after your contract ends.
  • - Surface the root causes of data problems to Operations and Product so bad data gets fixed at the source.
What You've Done
  • - Worked with go-to-market data such as lead lists, account and contact records, lifecycle stages, territories, or ownership, and can speak fluently about churn, closed lost, and cold leads.
  • - Cleaned, deduplicated, or reconciled messy records across more than one system, and can explain the logic you used to decide what matches.
  • - Built advanced Google Sheets workflows (lookups, array formulas, pivots, query functions, or scripts) to handle large volumes of data.
  • - Analyzed data in aggregate to find root causes and themes, not only to fix individual records.
  • - Documented a process clearly enough that someone else could run it.
What Sets You Apart
  • - You've built, or meaningfully contributed to, an entity resolution or data consolidation system that turned a messy database into a usable one.
  • - You write SQL to query, join, and validate data across sources.
  • - You've used AI to classify or enrich records, and you built a way to check its accuracy.
  • - You know the Salesforce data model, including how accounts, contacts, and opportunities relate.
Technology

Salesforce, Brightwheel's proprietary database, Google Sheets (advanced), SQL (nice to have), and AI tools for classification and enrichment.
