The GTB Product Specialist serves as an SME responsible for origination support of export finance transactions with US and overseas borrowers. S/he manages the transactions from origination through execution and liaises with GAOs on marketing plans (in liaison with the Head of Export and Agency Finance USA).

Identifies and pursues new sales prospects within existing or untapped markets. Gathers market intelligence, generates leads, and develops proposals/campaigns to garner new business, ensuring a consistent flow of new revenues to the company. Uses knowledge of markets, industries, and clients to determine demand, future trends and potential projects.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Originate, structure, and execute cross-border financings for the benefit of US and overseas borrowers.
  • Client communications and managing pitchbooks for client meetings.
  • Internal communications with both SCIB NY and Global teams.
  • Ability to create cash flow models, run internal profitability calculations, and prepare financing proposals for internal approvals to SCIB management.
  • Coordinate with product partners to deliver joint pitches (DCM, Markets, LevFin, etc.)
  • Work closely with the various stakeholders, including Corporate Banking, Investment Banking, Credit, Compliance, Legal, MO, E&S, and Risk teams.
  • Work with Private Debt Mobilization team in Madrid to syndicate transactions.
  • Take ownership of all the tasks and duties under his/her responsibility.
  • Follow press releases and news from clients and agencies as well as understand global politics and implications for agency financing.
  • Portfolio management, following P&L of booked transactions.

Education

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in Business, Finance or equivalent field.

3+ years of relevant experience

Skills And Abilities

  • Understanding of the export and project finance market (knowledge of emerging markets preferred)
  • Ability to multi-task and self-prioritize a heavy workload.
  • Strong analytical skills / financial knowledge.
  • Verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills / ability to work on a team.
  • Ability to interact with integrity and a high level of professionalism with all levels of team members and management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office - specifically excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Spanish or Portuguese (preferred but not necessary).
