Job Overview:

This role involves leading a function dedicated to designing strategies to enhance internal control discipline and operational excellence within a Line of Business (LOB) or Enterprise Control Function (ECF). Key responsibilities include ensuring capabilities are in place for the effective execution of the Operational Risk Management Framework, including implementing LOB and ECF specific processes and tools to ensure compliance with enterprise standards. The role also involves providing oversight and establishing quality assurance and control processes.

LOB Specific Job Summary

The GT Risk & Regulatory Portfolio Management Executive will focus on applying risk management, regulatory engagement, and governance expertise to foster a culture of risk identification, escalation, and mitigation of compliance and operational risks. This senior position requires communicating and driving risk strategies and priorities in collaboration with executive leaders. The role involves working with technology teams, control partners, domain experts, and risk officers to proactively identify, assess, and address potential risks and gaps. Interaction with internal audit, compliance, operational risk executives, and external regulators is essential. The role also entails discussing emerging risks with front-line units and implementing mitigation strategies to reduce risk likelihood, utilizing technical expertise to develop strategic solutions, and ensuring sustainable policy adherence. The leader will report on progress and foster a risk-aware culture that balances risk reduction with operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage with stakeholders to identify issues and control improvements for remediation, ensuring issue resolution.
  • Promote a risk-aware culture by monitoring and reporting on the operational risk profile.
  • Oversee assessments of the risk and control environment to support operational services and ensure standards are met.
  • Implement optimized controls and quality assurance practices to support business continuity.
  • Ensure timely execution of QA activities, control execution, case management, and reporting.
  • Manage operations responses for regulatory exams, audits, and reviews.
  • Define and lead risk mitigation strategies, especially in technology areas, to ensure compliance.
  • Partner with technology, divisional leads, and control functions to address risks.
  • Identify recommendations for leadership to improve risk assessment and remediation processes.
  • Utilize technical expertise in data management, AI, or information security to maintain sustainable risk solutions and oversee issue management activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in technology, with some experience in financial services or risk management.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Proven accountability and ownership in career progression.
  • Ability to act as a change agent and drive change among stakeholders.
  • Operational excellence mindset, solving complex risk issues efficiently.
