Job summary

The Goddard School of Clarkston, MI is seeking a Resource Teacher to support lead and assistant teachers by providing classroom coverage and assisting with lesson implementation.

You will supervise children, promote a positive learning environment, and contribute to a warm, safe, and nurturing setting aligned with our high standards for early childhood education.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; CDA/associate degree or coursework in ECE preferred.
• Experience working with young children in a childcare, preschool, or daycare setting preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in multiple infant classrooms and adapt to changing needs.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and actively engage with children throughout the day.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

Key Responsibilities

Classroom Support

• Provide coverage in preschool and pre-kindergarten classrooms as needed.
• Assist teachers with implementing age-appropriate lesson plans and activities.

• Ensure children's health, safety, and well-being in accordance with licensing regulations and company policies.
• Assist with meals, snacks, diapering, toileting, and rest time routines.
• Respond appropriately to children's needs and emergencies.
• Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary classroom environments.

Curriculum & Learning

• Support educational activities that encourage exploration, creativity, and school readiness.
• Engage children through play-based learning experiences.
• Prepare classroom materials and learning centers.
• Observe and communicate children's progress and developmental milestones to classroom teachers.

Team Collaboration

• Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and families.
• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
• Assist with special events, school activities, and transitions throughout the day.
• Promote a positive and professional school culture.
