Job summary

Davison Community Schools is seeking an Associate Teacher for PreK for All at Central Elementary School in Davison, MI. The role supports the Lead Teacher with planning, assessment, and instruction for four-year-olds, under preK for all guidelines.

Requirements include a CDA credential or an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, strong communication, and the ability to work with children and adults.

Responsibilities

• Maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance.
• Support daily classroom routines and take children outside in all seasons.
• Assist in implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities.
• Step into a leadership role in the classroom when needed.
• Foster positive, respectful interactions with children, families, and colleagues.
• Help create and maintain an engaging, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
• Collaborate with the Lead Teacher and Early Childhood Specialist to maintain a high CLASS rating.
• Assist with planning, problem-solving, and classroom decision-making as a team member.
• Maintain active supervision of children and ensure a safe, nurturing environment.
• Document child progress through anecdotal notes and Smart Teach.
• Assist with screenings and provide instructional support based on assessments.
• Complete tasks assigned by Lead Teacher and Director, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary:

The PreK for All Associate Teacher plays a key role in supporting the lead teacher in planning, assessment, and instruction of four-year-old children. This position assists in implementing all aspects of the PreK for All (formerly known as GSRP) program according to the PreK for All Implementation Manual, Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS), and State of Michigan LARA guidelines. The Associate Teacher is a vital part of the classroom team, ensuring a high-quality early learning experience for every child.

Qualifications:

• Valid Child Development Associate (CDA) credential (Preschool) or Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development
• High energy, enthusiasm, and a genuine love for working with young children
• Ability to work effectively with both children and adults
• Strong oral and written communication skills, and basic computer proficiency
• Initiative and adaptability in working with children of varying abilities
• Flexibility and a willingness to continually learn and grow professionally
• Required documentation on file prior to start date, including:
• Criminal background check
• LARA fingerprint eligibility
• Completion of all required licensing training and requirements

Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform other duties as assigned

• Opportunities may be available to work during the Lil’ Cards Summer Camp Program

Salary:

$15.26 - $19.32 per hour, per the Davison Paraprofessional Association Master Agreement
