Greater Midland Community Centers Inc. is seeking a GSRP Assistant Teacher to support high-quality early childhood education.

You will assist in program evaluation, help plan age-appropriate activities, and supervise assistant teachers to ensure consistent daily routines and strong developmental support for children. You will conduct home visits and parent conferences, maintain progress documentation, and coordinate family engagement events while upholding GSRP guidelines and state licensing

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 19 years of age.
  • Minimum of a CDA in Preschool Setting.
  • Experience working with children.
  • TB and Fingerprint clearance required.
  • CRR/1st Aid Certified.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the ongoing program evaluation using CLASS.
  • Collaborate with Lead Teachers to create meaningful child development goals.
  • Conduct (2) home visits and (2) parent/teacher conferences annually for every child and family.
  • Maintain persistent assessment, tracking and documentation of activities, progress, milestones, and Key Developmental Indicators (KPIs) through COR.
  • Aid in the production of comprehensive lesson plans compliant with center curriculum.
  • Consistently implement and oversee appropriate conflict resolution steps and classroom licensing guidelines.
  • Engage with parents/guardians through written, verbal and social media platforms building healthy relationships.
  • Ensure all GSRP guidelines and requirements are met.

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Early Childhood Education and GSRP Teacher, the GSRP Assistant Teacher is responsible for providing high quality education and care to children enrolled in the Early Childhood Program. This role is responsible for implementing a consistent daily routine, planning and overseeing the execution age/developmentally appropriate learning opportunities and managing Assistant Teachers assigned to their classroom. The GSRP Assistant Teacher must maintain high personal standards and adhere to, and carry out, the Purpose and Values of Greater Midland.

Major Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in the ongoing program evaluation using CLASS.
  • Collaborate withLeadTeachersto create meaningful child development goals.
  • Conduct (2) home visits and (2) parent/teacher conferenceswith theLeadTeacherannually for every child and family.
  • Maintain persistent assessment, tracking and documentation of activities, progress, milestones,andKey Developmental Indicators(KPIs)through COR.
  • Help with coordination of two-familyfun night activities per year.
  • Aidin the production ofcomprehensive lesson plans compliant with center curriculum.
  • Consistently implement and oversee the implementation of appropriate conflict resolution steps and classroom licensing guidelines.
  • Engage with parents/guardiansthrough written, verbal and social media platforms building healthy relationships with parents/guardians, staff and children.
  • Ensure all GSRP guidelines and requirements are met (as applicable).
  • Ensure every child's daily basic needs are met, including but not limitedto: engaging at child's level, diapering/toileting, food prep/service, supporting personal hygiene practices,and supportingphysical, cognitive and social/emotional development.
  • Maintain compliance with State of Michigan Licensing at all times.
  • Complete 24+ hours of professional development annually, CPR/First Aid as needed.
  • Consistently demonstratebehaviors aligned with Greater Midland Values.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
  • Bending, twisting and reaching required
  • Ability to get up and down from floor/sitting position as required
  • Ability to walk while pushing stroller/buggy for minimum of 45 minutes
