Job summary

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. in San Diego, CA is seeking a Program Manager to lead multiple small programs within the GSOC Hardware PMO.

You will develop Plans of Record, coordinate cross-functional teams, manage budgets and schedules, and track key metrics to ensure on-time delivery. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's in Engineering/CS and 2+ years in program management, with preferred Master's, PMP, and experience in HW SOC development for mobile/data-center/AI servers.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and takes responsibility for multiple small programs/technology with moderate complexity or a single complex program/technology by applying up-to-date program management knowledge to meet deadlines.
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders and program sponsors to develop goals, set the prioritization of deliverables, and discuss necessary priorities and stakeholder needs.
  • Builds and manages the execution of the Plan of Record for the programs/projects, including schedule, scope, budget, and communication.
  • Tracks and manages all key metrics pertaining to a program and escalates issues with corrective actions.
  • Manages cross-functional team work, coordinates with multiple teams, and tracks tasks.
  • Identifies program issues/risks and creates risk mitigation plans with a risk tracker.
  • Promotes program vision, ensures objectives are met, and represents the program across stakeholders.
  • Monitors budget/spending, on-time delivery, and milestones.
  • Supports process improvement and test plan tracking.
  • Partners with Chipset and Engineering leads to allocate HW platforms and deployment.
  • Drives continuous improvement via Lessons Learned sessions.

General Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for Program Management in our GSOC Hardware Program Management Office including the following responsibilities:

Manages and takes responsibility for multiple small programs/technology with moderate complexity or a single complex program/technology by applying up-to-date program management knowledge to meet deadlines

Collaborates with key stakeholders and program sponsors to develop goals, set the prioritization of deliverables, and discuss necessary priorities and stakeholder needs.

Builds and manages the execution of the Plan of Record (e.g., on time, on budget, within scope) for the programs/projects, which includes schedule, stakeholder identification, method and frequency of communication, scope, infrastructure setup, test plan coordination and prioritization.

Tracks and manages all key metrics pertaining to a program and identifies when metrics deviate significantly from Plan of Record; escalates issues in a timely manner and proposes corrective actions.

Manages and prioritizes the work of the program team by establishing schedules, task assignments, and tracking tasks of team members.

Coordinates the work of multiple cross functional teams on assigned tasks with guidance and maintains progress in tracking system.

Identifies program issues/risks and creates a risk mitigation plan for multiple small programs or a single medium sized or complex program. Maintains and updates the risk tracker.

Helps to promote program vision and objectives within own team, and ensures program objectives are met or exceeded. Represents the program and drives alignment across stakeholders.

Monitors budget/spending, on-time delivery, and achievement of program milestones.

Supports the compliance of processes by following best practices and procedures and providing observations for process improvement.

Develop engineering-based performance indicators/metrics geared towards risk identification, assessment, quantification. Monitor and ensure adherence to Test plan tracker, Sign-off checklists, etc.

Partner with Chipset team for allocation of HW platforms and parts to end users across worldwide sites considering project priorities and monitoring of platform usage. Plan the allocation and deployment under the constraints applicable.

Partner with Engineering and Program Management leads to drive continuous improvement by coordinating Project Lessons Learnt sessions, participating in initiatives etc..

Supports team vision and objectives by motivating team.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 2+ years of Program Management or related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • PMP Certification or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of Program Management or related work experience.
  • Experience in HW SOC development cycle for Mobile, data-center and AI servers.
  • 2+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Director level and above).
  • 2+ years of experience working in a large matrixed organization.
  • 2+ years of experience with program management tools such as dashboards (Splunk, Thoughtspot, Tableau, PowerBI/automate, Agentic AI), Gantt charts, etc.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:

$126,400.00 - $189,600.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
