Position Overview: GSOC Assistant Supervisor

The GSOC Assistant Supervisor will lead the operational activities of the Security Operations Center. Responsibilities include monitoring security systems, coordinating with field officers and specialists, and relaying calls for service to appropriate agencies. The role ensures all operations adhere to established policies and procedures.

The Security Operations Center operates 24/7/365. The Assistant Supervisor must be available to work all shifts, including holidays and weekends as needed. This position reports to the GSOC Supervisor and supports the security team and other personnel, maintaining a friendly and helpful attitude.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead Security Operations Center Operators.
• Monitor security systems and respond to security events.
• Analyze alerts from Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems to identify and investigate security issues.
• Mentor and guide operators to ensure high-quality work.
• Maintain accountability and punctuality of staff.
• Investigate and report on security issues and trends.
• Classify call priorities and generate alarm reports.
• Keep accurate records and monitor security systems.
• Assist emergency services by verifying information and operating dispatch equipment.
• Make rapid, accurate decisions with limited information.
• Participate in daily briefings and handle multiple emergency situations.
• Maintain a clutter-free work environment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 2 years of experience in emergency services, private security, armed forces, IT, or related fields preferred.
• Associate’s degree or certifications in IT, Cybersecurity, Criminal Justice, or related fields preferred.

Minimum Requirements

• U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident with proof of eligibility to work.
• Valid driver’s license or state ID.
• Proficiency in English; Spanish is preferred.
• Ability to remain calm under stress, maintain confidentiality, and communicate effectively.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office or similar software.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged sitting and working at a computer.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
