Job Summary: Responsible for performing essential cleaning tasks to ensure train cars and company facilities are maintained to high standards, supporting an exceptional customer experience. Act as team leader in the absence of the Manager or during split crew operations, special projects, and as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of cleaning duties including, but not limited to, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, washing walls, cleaning windows, restrooms, etc., ensuring quality workmanship and inspection of train cars and facilities.
  • Open and secure train cars, including powering systems on and off as needed for operations.
  • Perform thorough deep cleaning of train cars and food service areas.
  • Perform pressure washing of train car exteriors and the interiors of open-air gondolas as required
  • Ensure familiarity with the Safety Data Sheets (SDS) on all products used.
  • Monitor staff to ensure proper use of cleaning agents and equipment in accordance with safety and operational guidelines.
  • Responsible for training and coaching of all employees.
  • Complete daily task documents and adhere to assigned cleaning and project schedule.
  • Maintain a strong focus on safety and security, taking responsibility for site security while working independently, including in areas along active train tracks.
  • Other duties as requested by department manager and/or GSMR senior mgmt.

Work Environment:

  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
  • Operating golf cart/ cleaning van to complete tasks.
  • Varying work hours, primarily early mornings and some evenings.
Qualifications

Education, Skill, and Work Experience Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  • Extensive prior cleaning and/or janitorial experience, preferably in a tourism, industrial, or commercial setting.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, and work in confined spaces, as needed.
  • Must have 7-day per week scheduling flexibility.
