Job summary

Firefly Aerospace in Briggs, TX is seeking a GSE Combination Welder to fabricate and weld flight-grade SS assemblies and ground support equipment. You will work with design teams across Firefly to support launch site fabrication and production tooling.

Responsibilities include welding to prints, reading diagrams, installing piping and conduits, and maintaining equipment per specs. Overtime and weekend work may be required. Benefits include health, dental and vision plans.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of welding experience.
• Experience with MIG, TIG, Stick and Flux Core welding.
• Experience with structural and pipe welding.
• Good knowledge of heat effects to avoid warpage.
• Able to operate forklifts and cranes; lift 50 lbs.
• Willing to work overtime and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Weld aluminum and steel structures, assemblies and piping to prints and specs.
• Read P&IDs and shop drawings for installation, troubleshooting and repair.
• Install tubing, piping and conduit for fluid system fabrication and upgrades.
• Utilize wrenches, calipers, micrometers and other tools to maintain tolerances.
• Perform safety checks, housekeeping and support continuous site improvements.

In this position, you will be able to work on R&D test site equipment, launch site fabrication & structures, and production line tooling. You will work on a daily basis with vehicle design teams, ground support teams, operations engineers, and engineering designers across Firefly to bring the future of spaceflight to life.
