Job summary

Duolingo is seeking a VP of Strategy and Corporate Development to lead the Senior Leadership Team and steer growth via M&A. Based in Pittsburgh or New York, this role reports to the Chief Business Officer and oversees Strategy, Business Operations, and Corporate Development.

The role requires 20+ years in strategy/ M&A with tech focus, and a strong track record in fast-paced environments. Hybrid 4+1 work arrangement is expected.

Qualifications

• 20+ years of strategy, consulting, M&A, investment banking, or product management experience in tech.
• Demonstrated understanding of Duolingo’s business and growth opportunities.
• Proven track record in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments.
• Experience working closely with product and engineering teams.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.
• Leadership and team-building experience with high-performing teams.
• Ability to work from Pittsburgh, PA or New York, NY on a 4+1 hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities

• Partner with leaders to develop strategies across Growth, Monetization, Language-learning, and New Subjects.
• Generate insights to influence product experiments and drive impact.
• Run company-wide strategy and planning, including Board of Directors meetings.
• Support growth via M&A aligned with strategy and priorities, with product and exec teams.
• Own Corporate Development end-to-end: source, evaluate, negotiate, close acquisitions; drive integration.
• Lead Strategy, Business Operations, and Corporate Development teams (~10 people).
• Encourage adoption of new tools for insight, automation, and communication.
