Job summary

Amphenol Charles Industries in Canton, Missouri, is seeking an Extrusion Operator I to start up and shut down an extrusion line, feed materials, monitor equipment, and ensure product quality. You will work with the extrusion technician and perform tooling changes as needed.

Responsibilities include inspections, documentation, preventative maintenance, and maintaining safety. Ideal candidates have 1 year of extrusion experience and forklift certification, with OSHA/compliance knowledge.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in plastic extrusion is a plus.
• 1 year of extrusion operator experience or related work experience.
• Forklift certification required or able to obtain within 2 months of hire.
• Knowledge of plastic extrusion materials, processes, and machine operation is a plus.
• Knowledge of MS Office applications and OSHA/environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Start up and shut down an extrusion line.
• Run extrusion line and maintain quality and productivity with the extrusion technician assistance as needed.
• Perform tooling changeovers on the extrusion line as needed.
• Perform first-piece inspections and monitor production output to ensure quality standards.
• Make adjustments to keep product within specifications and notify the extrusion technician of problems.
• Complete all documentation related to extruder and extrusion line.
• Perform preventative maintenance on extrusion equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Handle and manage raw materials, including extrusion resin, ensuring correct material is used and properly fed.
• Move and stack materials and move tooling in the plant.
• Identify and report any safety hazards or concerns.
• Assist in other duties as required.
