Job summary

The Jewish Leadership Academy in Miami seeks a dynamic Middle & Upper School Mathematics teacher for August 2026. The role spans grades 6–12 and may include teaching one science/engineering period for credentialed candidates.

Candidates should bring at least five years of teaching, a math degree, and a passion for inquiry-based learning. You will join a values-driven faculty and contribute to Friday program, advisory work, and school-wide initiatives.

Qualifications

• Five years of teaching experience with middle and upper school students.
• Undergraduate degree in mathematics or closely related field.
• Commitment to mission and values alignment with JLA.
• Ability to guide inquiry-based projects and experiments.
• Strong collaboration across departments.
• Fluent in Google Workspace for Education and adaptable to new tech.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Experience with gifted and talented students is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Teach mathematics to middle and upper school (Aug 2026 start).
• Possibly teach one period of science or engineering depending on credentials.
• Advise service-learning program and lead House competitions.
• Contribute to advisory program.
• Teach 20 periods per week (Mon-Thu) and participate in Friday programming.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and onboarding.
