Job summary

Kasper Electric is seeking a Financial Controller to own the integrity of financial operations across residential, commercial, and service divisions in South Florida. This is a hands‑on role that reports directly to the CFO and works closely with ownership.

This position requires construction accounting experience, comfort presenting financial results to leadership, and the instincts to flag problems before they become losses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a controller or senior accounting role.
• Construction accounting experience is required — WIP, percent-of-completion, retainage.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and advanced Excel.
• Ability to close books, prepare financial statements, and write financial narrative.
• Experience supervising accounting support staff; CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end close process across Kasper Electric and related entities.
• Prepare monthly P&L, balance sheet, and division-level gross margin reports.
• Maintain and reconcile all balance sheet accounts monthly.
• Produce and present monthly executive metrics package to ownership.
• Own the monthly WIP schedule and review job cost variances.
• Run accruals for large billings pre-billed or significant costs.
• Manage job closeout reporting and financial reconciliation.
• Maintain a rolling 13-week cash flow forecast; monitor cash position daily.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and present to ownership.
• Support banking, bonding, tax preparation, and year-end processing.
