Job summary

Giant Eagle, Inc. Avon Lake is seeking Sales Team Members to support multiple departments, including deli, seafood, prepared foods and meat. You will build relationships with customers, greet and assist them, and ensure orders meet expectations while maintaining cleanliness and safety in the department.

This entry-level role requires a willingness to learn, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and being at least 16 years old. Prior food safety experience is a plus, but not required.

Qualifications

• Experience required: 0 to 6 months.
• Experience desired: Food safety experience.
• Education desired: No High School diploma required.
• Lifting requirement: Up to 50 pounds.
• Age requirement: At least 16 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Maintain department area cleanliness and safety.
• Provide exemplary customer service and fulfill orders.
• Answer questions and suggest products to customers.
• Handle products and equipment per safety guidelines.
• Set up and replenish food cases and check code dating.
• Record special orders accurately on prepared foods.
• Assist in deliveries, coolers, and freezer maintenance.
• Support store operations to meet out-of-stock goals.
• Rotate and check dates to ensure safety.
• Check deliveries against invoices.
• Assist in other areas as required.
