Job description

At Golf Ranch, we are building golf’s home base. We acquire, transform, and operate a network of tech-enabled driving ranges across the country, and we pioneered a new category between entertainment golf and traditional golf called Golf Lite.

In under five years we have gone from zero to seven locations and more than 14,000 golfers in our monthly membership program, Ranch Pass. We are backed by a supportive investor group and we are expanding aggressively across the country.

Golf Ranch in the news
The role

We are hiring a Growth Marketing Lead to own the customer journey from first impression to loyal member, reporting directly to our Chief Growth Officer (ex-McKinsey and growth leader at unicorn tech startups).

This is a builder’s seat. You will be trusted to execute the company’s revenue strategy, starting with customer acquisition: deciding who we reach and where every marketing dollar goes. The center of that strategy is what happens after someone walks through the door. Golf Ranch is a membership business built on habit. The work is turning a first visit into a membership, a new membership into a weekly routine, and a routine into years of loyalty. You will own that journey end to end, and use what you learn about our best members to acquire more people like them.

Golf Lite did not exist five years ago, and nobody has built this playbook yet. You get to write it, and it runs at every range we operate across the country.

This role is a great fit if you are
  • An analytical doer who wants high autonomy and real ownership at a fast-growing company
  • Capable of independently running end-to-end acquisition or retention experiments: build the hypothesis, move fast to design and launch the right test in the right channel, and measure results that inform the next move
  • Obsessed with funnel metrics, with a strong point of view on which numbers belong on the dashboard and why
  • Deeply curious about real-world customer feedback and how it explains what you see in the spreadsheet
  • Constantly learning and improving, the kind of person who screenshots landing pages and email flows from brands you admire in your free time
  • Genuinely into golf, or excited to become so. Our people are the product, and the best work here comes from people who care about the game our customers care about.
Results you will be responsible for
  • Acquisition. Qualified visitors at or under target CAC in every market.
  • Conversion. More of the people who walk in become members.
  • Frequency. Members build a habit, and the habit is visible in visits per member per month.
  • Retention. Members stay longer, and the ones worth saving get saved.
  • Member value. Each new cohort of members is worth more than the last, through tenure, ascension, and attach rate on instruction, food and beverage, and retail.
  • Decision and data quality. Leadership plans against numbers they trust, and every test you run ends in a written decision and read-out.
What you will own

Demand and unit economics

  • Set the qualified-visitor and CAC definitions the business plans against, then allocate paid budget across markets and channels (e.g., Google, Meta) against them every week
  • Own and define acquisition strategy against named audiences and avatars: who we reach, what we want them to do, what that is worth
  • Design and hold web, SEO, and landing pages to conversion targets

Membership and frequency

  • Design and improve the member lifecycle: onboarding, activation, upsell and cross-sell, winback, and churn prevention
  • Own the experimentation design and calendar across email, SMS, app, and on-site to drive customer lifetime value

Reporting

  • Own full-funnel performance reporting every week

What is not yours

  • Membership architecture and core pricing (Chief Growth Officer)
  • On-site delivery and staffing (Operations)
  • Creative execution (Content Manager, against the audience and objective you set)
Qualifications
  • Growth, lifecycle, or retention marketing experience carrying a revenue or retention number, not just a channel
  • Real hands-on depth in both acquisition and retention, and a continued desire to stay hands-on in the work
  • Deep understanding of LTV:CAC modeling, cohort retention, marketing incrementality, and sound experiment design
  • Experience in a fast-growing subscription or membership business that depends on habit formation and frequency. Bonus for multi-unit retail, fitness studios, and other frequency-driven local businesses.
  • Tech stack experience: HubSpot, Braze, Attentive or Klaviyo
  • AI power user
Compensation and benefits
  • Annual performance bonus tied to the growth and efficiency metrics you own
  • Equity participation in the business you are helping build
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Company-paid AI tools
  • Unlimited range balls at every Golf Ranch location
