Job summary

Expedia Group seeks a Senior Manager, Data Scientist - Growth Marketing to set the analytics strategy for SPP and lead a team of ~3 data scientists. You will influence VP/SVP stakeholders with autonomous leadership and drive cross-channel measurement across paid media and data-heavy programs.

You will mentor the team on statistics, experimentation, and dashboard storytelling, building scalable data pipelines and executive-ready insights.

Qualifications

• PhD, Masters, or Bachelors in a quantitative/scientific field (Math, Statistics, Economics, CS, Physics).
• 7+ years in data science/analytics, with 2+ years leading data scientists or analysts.
• Proven track record of delivering data-driven insights and measurement solutions across multiple domains.
• Advanced production-grade experience with Python, R, or SQL for analysis and modeling.
• Preferred: marketing/measurement experience (paid social, programmatic, CTV, digital audio, paid app) and incrementality knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Directly manages a team of ~3 data scientists, hiring, onboarding, and performance development.
• Sets technical standards, code review, reproducibility, and documentation norms.
• Coaches on statistical techniques, modeling, experimentation, and stakeholder communication.
• Allocates team capacity against a prioritized roadmap and balance for BAU vs strategic work.
• Builds a collaborative, transparent team culture and communicates needs to senior leadership.
• Defines analytics strategy and translates goals into structured programs with clear objectives.
