Description

Location: Remote/DC Metro Area

As the Growth Lead supporting Gunnison's Health & Civil Division (HCD), the candidate will have the experience to further scale Gunnison's growth within the Health and Civil sectors (including a specific focus on HHS, VA, Treasury, and State). This individual will be responsible for developing and executing the overall growth plan for a large segment of Gunnison's business with the overall objective of winning new business opportunities in Gunnison's core strategic accounts. The Growth Lead will ensure that appropriate capture activities occur, and capture efforts are consistent with a structured approach and will provide management oversight. This individual will develop and execute a detailed Capture Strategy Plan for major opportunities within Gunnison's pipeline and be responsible for the identification, development, qualification, and prioritization of new customer opportunities. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of federal sales rhythms and be able to lead Gunnison's efforts in winning new business. The Growth Lead will be responsible for developing and maintaining enough pipeline volume across all business acquisition process phases to meet targeted quarter-over-quarter and year-over-year bookings goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish external teaming partnerships related to capture pursuits
  • Work with senior leadership on the capture and proposal phases by supporting and monitoring all required actions throughout the bid lifecycle
  • Lead, facilitate, and coordinate proposals
  • Travel to customer and partner sites (typically in the Washington DC Metro Area)
  • Participation in industry organization, tradeshows, communities of interest on behalf of Gunnison
  • Manage existing and build new partnerships with clients and companies in order to identify new opportunities and add value to existing client base
  • Manage effective collaboration with internal teams and external partners to maintain schedule commitments, resolve conflicts, identify risks, and sustain an efficient proposal life cycle
  • Provide input on the cost to win/price to win
  • Prepare documentation in support of bid decision process, providing reviews and updates
  • Drive the development of, and contribute to the completion of critical bid artifacts, as required for proposal development; ensure the integrity of win strategy through a supporting role in color reviews
  • Define win strategy criteria based upon RFP and information acquired in the qualification phase
  • Perform corporate Business Growth processes, documenting and properly storing all required artifacts to enhance our growth strategy and professional culture
  • Identify, monitor, and drive opportunities that are appropriate for Gunnison using SAM, eBuy, GovWin, and other lead sourcing tools

Requirements

  • 10+ years of related experience in Federal Government Business Development and Capture
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • An understanding of "solution sales" business models
  • Proven track record in identifying and capturing new business, as well as maintaining customer relationships for follow-on work
  • Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent project management and execution skills including clear methods for tracking action items, consistent follow-up with involved parties, and ability to lead executive briefings on opportunities and progress
  • A dependable team player who works collaboratively and cooperatively with others in a team-oriented environment
  • Proven technical knowledge/understanding and/or ability to work with a technical team
  • High attention to detail and the capacity to work comfortably in a rapidly changing environment
  • Strong ability to multitask and prioritize assignments
  • Prior experience managing a proposal from initiation to delivery and the ability to develop compelling win themes, messaging, marketing materials, and white papers for both commercial and federal clients
  • Prior experience working in a growth company environment to include the ability to wear many hats, pick up new skills quickly and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced company

The salary range for this position depends upon multiple factors including location, the individual's knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, and contract-specific budget constraints and organizational requirements.
