Job summary

SouthState Bank is seeking a Universal Banker to serve as a full-service, single point of contact in the branch for customers' financial needs. The role blends Teller and FSR duties to support transactional and account management while expanding customer relationships and contributing to the bank's growth.

The position requires strong cash handling, customer service skills, and the ability to identify customer needs and promote additional services.

Qualifications

Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Cash handling, sales, customer service.
Specific Knowledge: Good interpersonal skills, good computer skills, ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

Performs teller duties: processes transactions for savings, checking, and loan accounts; maintains neat work area; may guide and train new tellers; may access safe deposit boxes; cashes checks and processes withdrawals within limits; sells certified checks; balances transactions daily; may service ATM; uses branch capture system; follows policies and procedures.
FSR duties: opens new deposit accounts; handles stop payments, wire transfers, and maintenance; explains policies; resolves customer problems with courtesy; knows and explains bank products; ensures proper distribution of branch records and correspondence.
Universal Banker functions: 1 year teller or cash handling; six months customer relationship building or sales; additional responsibilities may include vault duties; other duties as assigned.
