Job summary

GitLab is hiring an Intermediate Fullstack Engineer (Ruby/Vue.js) to help turn GitLab’s self-serve funnel into a reliable source of new paying customers. You’ll work on the in-product journey from first visit through sign-up, trial, and first purchase for GitLab.com and self-managed GitLab.

You’ll partner with Product Managers, UX Designers, and Data Analysts, focusing on backend Rails and frontend Vue.js work.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with Ruby on Rails and modern JavaScript.
• Strong understanding of relational databases and web performance optimization.
• Track record of shipping features to production and owning them post-release.
• Ability to use product data to decide what to build, keep, or roll back.
• Ability to document decisions and share updates asynchronously with distributed teams.
• Collaborate inclusively with teammates from diverse backgrounds in line with GitLab’s values.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and iterate on A/B tests and experiments to increase first purchases on GitLab.com and self-managed GitLab.
• Improve registration, trial, onboarding, and in-product upgrade experiences to increase completion of steps.
• Implement backend features in Ruby on Rails and frontend experiences with Vue.js.
• Analyze experiment results and product usage data to decide what changes to keep, iterate, or roll back.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and UX Designers to define hypotheses and success metrics before shipping experiments.
• Maintain and improve our experimentation framework and tooling to increase throughput.
• Collaborate with Fulfillment and other teams to remove purchase barriers across codebase.
• Document decisions and share results asynchronously for distributed teams.
