Job summary

UDR, Inc. in Southern California is adding an Affordable Housing Specialist to support multiple properties from Eight 80 in Newport Beach, CA.

The role focuses on managing Affordable Housing Programs, processing applicants, renewals, waitlists, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws. This position requires knowledge of federal housing programs including Section 8, experience in property management, and strong administrative skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in residential properties or property management is required.
• Experience with federal housing programs and income eligibility.
• Strong administrative and record-keeping skills.
• Experience with Section 8 programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process applications for Affordable Housing and Section 8 applicants including credit and resident certification.
• Approve qualified applications and maintain participant files with complete documentation.
• Educate residents on program requirements and conduct program orientations as needed.
• Ensure compliance with local and state regulations and maximize rents and income as allowed by policy.
• Provide backup support to sales and interact with prospects about lease terms and local area.
