Job summary

Emergence in New York is seeking an Investments Lead to own the sourcing and origination process, from identification to closing. You will apply investment judgment, build scalable processes, and work directly with firm leadership on end-to-end investments.

You will join a foundation-building team at Emergence, shaping a scalable sourcing function and driving high-growth software investments within a hands-on, entrepreneurial culture.

Qualifications

• 1–6 years of private equity / growth equity / VC investing experience preferred.
• Growth and sales roles at fast growing startups accepted.
• Strong investment judgment and understanding of enterprise software.
• Excellent communication with founders and management teams.
• Thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
• Builder mentality; eager to shape a growing function.

Responsibilities

• Source and evaluate software acquisition opportunities using own investment judgment.
• Maintain and improve sourcing infrastructure and intermediary relationships.
• Drive due diligence processes and coordinate cross-functional workstreams.
• Support deal structuring, negotiation, and transaction execution.
• Collaborate with portfolio leadership on post-acquisition strategy and add-ons.
• Help hire and develop team members as Emergence grows.
