Job summary

EIG Insurance Center in Wichita, KS is seeking an Insurance Agency Accountant to join our in-office team. You will manage month-end close, prepare financial reports, and reconcile multiple bank accounts across entities.

The role emphasizes accuracy, compliance with state and industry regulations, and opportunities to improve payroll and accounting processes. A Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 2+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting
• 2+ years of accounting experience
• Experience with ADP payroll systems a plus
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, Google Docs, or similar software

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end accounting processes, ensuring all entries and reconciliations are accurate and timely
• Prepare and analyze profit and loss statements, balance sheets and other financial reports for leadership
• Monitor and reconcile multiple bank accounts (operating, trust, and others)
• Track available funds vs. restricted funds for incoming and outgoing payments
• Handle client premium payments, vendor invoices, return premiums, and premium financing
• Assist with audits, compliance, and financial reporting requirements
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting and payroll processes for efficiency and accuracy
• Reconcile monthly account statements from insurance carriers (agency-billed and direct-billed) to prevent discrepancies
