Duolingo is hiring a Senior Data Science Manager to lead the data science function within Growth, owning forecasting and BI for User Growth. You will manage 6 to 10 data scientists, coach career development, and grow the team while elevating analytics standards across cross-functional partners.

The role reports to the Head of Data Science & Analytics and requires deep expertise in forecasting, experimentation, and storytelling for senior leadership in a high-growth consumer tech company.

Qualifications

• Experience using data science and analytics to solve product and business problems.
• Proven ability to build, lead, and grow a high-performing data science team.
• Applied expertise in forecasting, experimentation, and ML modeling.
• Strong communication skills for senior leadership and cross-functional partners.
• Experience with data/analytics engineering ecosystems and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Set the analytical vision and roadmap for User Growth data science aligned with business goals.
• Lead a team of 6–10 data scientists; grow the team by hiring top talent.
• Embed data scientists within product teams and maintain stakeholder cohesion.
• Design, execute, and interpret experiments to drive user acquisition and retention.
• Develop user growth forecasting systems and deliver credible forecasts.
• Drive BI strategy, dashboards, and analytics infrastructure for Growth.
• Translate complex findings into clear senior leadership narratives.
