Cornell University is seeking a Tech Services Supervisor II- Chamber Supervisor to lead the CALS Growth Chamber Maintenance Crew and oversee 130 growth chambers across multiple facilities. You will hire, train, and supervise technicians, plan safety programs, and coordinate with greenhouse managers and trades to maintain critical equipment.

This full-time, on-site role demands hands-on management, strong organizational skills, and ability to work 24/7 on-call, including weekends and holidays,

Competenze

• Requires Bachelor’s degree in horticulture, plant science, pathology, entomology, soil and crop science or related field with 3+ years supervising chamber operations
• Experience supervising technical staff in growth chamber facilities
• Ability to coordinate with faculty and researchers for chamber setup and plant care
• Proven track record of safety training and compliance with regulations

Mansioni

• Provide daily hands-on operational management for ~130 growth chambers and SARL labs
• Supervise 3 technicians and oversee chamber-related Shop operations
• Hire, train, and evaluate staff; ensure safety and training compliance
• Coordinate with Greenhouse Managers and trades to upgrade and optimize chamber performance
