Job summary

TikTok invites students to join its User Growth internship in the United States for a 12‑week summer program. You’ll work on backend systems and data pipelines supporting growth, SEO, and discovery, while applying AI-driven capabilities to optimize content and experiments.

You’ll collaborate with cross‑functional teams across international locations, gaining hands‑on experience with production systems, data, and AI tooling in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
• Commit to 12 weeks during Summer 2027.
• Familiar with Golang, Python, Java, or C++, and have a solid grasp of data structures and algorithms.
• Basic understanding of backend development, APIs, databases, cache systems, microservices, or distributed systems.
• Strong communication, fast learner, and ability to collaborate with cross-functional, international teams.

Responsibilities

• Participate in design and development of backend systems for growth, optimization, experimentation, and acquisition.
• Build or improve services, tools, and data pipelines for SEO/GEO, search/discovery, content understanding, content quality, and traffic optimization.
• Apply AIGC capabilities to support content generation, prompts, quality assessment, and automated optimization for growth scenarios.
• Explore AI/Agentic workflow, Auto Research, tool calling, evaluation pipelines, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
• Collaborate with product, data, algorithm, and engineering partners to deliver reliable features and backend components with measurable impact.
