The position emphasizes supervision, daily routines, and collaboration with families and staff to promote children’s social, emotional, and cognitive growth. State certifications and background screening are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED (required).
• First Aid and CPR certification within state-specific timeline (required).
• Coursework in Early Childhood Education or similar field (preferred).
• Previous experience in Early Childhood Education (preferred).
• Must meet all state requirements and complete required background screening for child care associations.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in implementing age-appropriate activities that support children’s development.
• Supervise children during daily routines to ensure safety and well-being.
• Prepare classroom materials and learning environments for daily activities.
• Maintain required staff-to-child ratios and safe supervision practices.
• Keep classroom clean, organized, and welcoming.
• Communicate with parents, staff, and leadership as appropriate.
• Support health and safety by following center policies and documenting incidents.
• Assist with maintaining classroom records and daily reports.
