Job summary

Elevance Health is seeking a Senior Group Underwriter to determine acceptability of insurance risks and appropriate premium rates for large, complex renewal and prospect employer groups in line with Corporate Underwriting Guidelines.

The role requires in-office collaboration 1-2 days per week with flexible options to support productivity and work-life balance. Alternate locations may be considered for candidates within commuting distance of an office.

Qualifications

Location: This role requires associates to be in-office 1 - 2 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. Group Underwriter Senior

Will be responsible for determining acceptability of insurance risks and appropriate premium rates for large, complex renewal and prospect employer groups in accordance with Corporate Underwriting Guidelines and Authority Limits.

How You Will Make An Impact

• Calculates renewal rates for complex group cases based on thorough analysis of the group's experience, industry, location, size, and demographic nature.

Minimum Requirements

Requires a BA/BS in a related field; Minimum 4 years of related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities And Experiences

• CPCU, CLU, LOMA, HIAA or other insurance related courses preferred.
• CPCU, CLU, LOMA, HIAA, PAHM or other insurance related courses preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including developing PivotTables, performing lookup functions (VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH), and utilizing formulas to support data analysis and reporting.
• Prior experience in underwriting, risk analysis, financial analysis, and or mathematics strongly preferred.

For candidates working in person or virtually in the below locations, the salary range for this specific position is $76,800 to $126,720.
