Job summary

Avenues Recovery Center in Aurora, CO, is seeking a Group Therapist to join our Detox and Residential teams. You will conduct group therapy, provide psychoeducation, and help clients build coping skills and recovery tools in a supportive setting.

Responsibilities include coordinating with clinical staff, documenting sessions, and ensuring assessments are completed. A valid CAS licensure and at least one year in treatment are preferred; candidates in recovery are welcome.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in psychology, counseling, or related field preferred.
• Min. one year experience in treatment industry preferred.
• Valid licensure to practice as a clinician in this state (CAS).
• If in recovery, at least one year sobriety required.
• Excellent interpersonal, observational, and communication skills.
• Strong presence and sound judgement; honest and trustworthy behavior.

Responsibilities

• Conduct group therapy, psychoeducation, and process groups tailored to client needs.
• Assist clients in developing healthy coping skills and recovery tools.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to track client challenges and progress.
• Escalate significant client concerns to the Clinical Director.
• Maintain thorough documentation of all group sessions and client charts.
• Ensure all clinical assessments and charting for clients are completed.
