Universal Health Services' Streamwood Behavioral Healthcare System seeks a Group Therapist to deliver psychoeducational and psychotherapeutic care to pediatric, adolescent and adult patients. You will prepare and run group sessions, guide participation, and monitor dynamics to support progress toward treatment goals.

The role requires strong documentation, collaboration with treatment teams, and adherence to the daily program schedule.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field and/or licensed in a clinically related field.
• Prior experience providing group facilitation.
• Experience with psychiatric mental health populations preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; professional demeanor required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver quality psychoeducational and psychotherapeutic treatment in group settings.

Responsibilities

GROUP THERAPIST - FULL TIME

The Group Therapist is responsible for quality psychoeducational and psychotherapeutic treatment of pediatric, adolescent and adult patients. This is accomplished through preparation and facilitation of regular group therapy sessions designed to meet patients' needs. The Group Facilitator guides and directs patient participation during group sessions, effectively addresses group dynamics, and observes patients' individual responses to discussion and content. Responsible for documenting group notes including content, individual observations, and individual progress towards treatment goals. Maintains open communication with the Director of the program, milieu management and treatment teams to support quality service delivery and ensure adherence to the daily programming schedule. Follows all policies/procedures related to release of information and Confidentiality. Regularly attends clinical supervision.

Tuesday through Saturday schedule - possibly one evening per week.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field and/or certified or licensed in a clinically related field. Prior experience providing group facilitation. Experience working with a psychiatric mental health population preferred. Must have knowledge of group process, dynamics, and group safety precautions. Knowledge in both process and psychoeducation group facilitation. Knowledge of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy theory and intervention. Able to communicate and collaborate effectively with hospital staff (peers and leadership). This individual must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Diplomacy and discretion are essential, as well as excellent organizational skills . Professional demeanor and appearance required.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION

Illinois LPC/LSW, LCPC/LCSW preferred.
