Group Technical Product Manager, Software

We’re excited to add a Group Technical Product Manager, Software, to our growing Connected Products Group software team. This role is critical in shaping the development and delivery of the Moen Smart Water Network software ecosystem, supporting our Flo and other smart water product categories. We seek a customer-obsessed, execution-oriented product leader eager to work at the intersection of hardware and software within the connected home ecosystem.

This position reports directly to the Vice President, Software Product Management. The successful candidate will lead a cross-functional team to define and deliver innovative software features that enhance our whole home water ecosystem.

Position Location:

This role offers a hybrid schedule based in Deerfield, IL, or San Francisco, CA, with on-site work expected three days a week (Tuesday-Thursday).

Responsibilities:

  1. Build and mentor a team of technical software product managers, leading Agile teams in developing software for the Flo by Moen Smart Water Shutoff products on the Moen Smart Water Network platform, collaborating with engineering and design teams.
  2. Manage and maintain the Moen Smart Water Network software platform as a key asset in the company's connected devices strategy.
  3. Collaborate with Category Management and Software Program Managers to define and execute product development initiatives.
  4. Utilize usage data to inform product priorities and development decisions.
  5. Operate within an Agile environment, continuously refining needs, setting priorities, and defining milestones.
  6. Define and align team objectives and key results (OKRs) with UX specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  7. Own and prioritize the sprint backlog, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  8. Lead product discovery and design efforts, working closely with designers for a user-centered approach.
  9. Track and report on product performance metrics post-launch to inform future improvements.
  10. Communicate progress and insights to senior leadership through structured reports.
  11. Analyze consumer performance metrics, including app reviews, feedback, and NPS, to identify improvement opportunities.
  12. Collaborate with Customer Success to enhance user satisfaction and support.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 5+ years in software product management, development, or related roles (QA, technical program management, product design).
  2. Proven experience leading software product managers and Agile teams.
  3. Experience with connected products is preferred.
  4. Strong ability to develop and execute product roadmaps aligned with business goals.
  5. Solid foundation in software development, system architecture, APIs, data structures, and cloud services.
  6. Experience with mobile, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth-connected devices, cloud services, and firmware.
  7. Proficiency in managing software platforms and ecosystems for scalability and integration.
  8. Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira.
  9. Data-driven with the ability to leverage analytics for product health and user needs.
  10. Strong cross-dependencies management skills across interconnected products.
  11. Ability to translate customer insights into actionable product improvements.
  12. Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  13. Comfortable navigating ambiguity and high-pressure situations.
  14. Bachelor’s degree in a technical field; MBA is a plus. Software development experience is preferred.

Additional Information:

The salary range for this role is estimated at $155,000–$185,000 USD in Deerfield, IL, and $175,000–$215,000 USD in California, depending on experience and location. Compensation includes base salary, bonuses, or sales incentives.
