Job description

This is a key role in the Group Tax team working with the Group Tax Controller and Group Head of Tax to manage the tax compliance obligations of Uniphar’s Medtech and Pharma divisions. The role will involve:

  1. Working with relevant Finance colleagues to extract required data for timely compliance.
  2. Collaborating with Tax Function colleagues to establish a best-in-class tax control framework.
  3. Preparing statutory tax disclosures in financial statements.
  4. Calculating monthly corporation and deferred tax positions and communicating with Controllers as part of monthly reporting.
  5. Reconciling CT balance sheet balances to accounting periods and ROS records.
  6. Preparing detailed tax packs for CT tax agents to optimize CT filing positions.
  7. Ensuring preliminary tax obligations are met and tax cash is optimized.
  8. Managing IXBRL filing requirements with external service providers.
  9. Collaborating on form 46G submissions and assisting with Country by Country Reporting.
  10. Handling Employment Taxes, including payroll tax control account reviews, employer reporting, and projects.
  11. Managing VAT, including preparing VAT returns, reconciling VAT positions, and proactive communication with Revenue.
  12. Ensuring data integrity of Master Data related to purchasing, sales, and tax classifications.
  13. Preparing Intrastat and VIES reporting.
  14. Reviewing Customs operations and declarations.
  15. Supporting Revenue Compliance Interventions with documentation.
  16. Participating in internal audit and projects to improve the Group Tax Control framework.

Requirements

  • Irish Tax Institute qualified with 1-2 years post-qualification experience.
  • Ability to identify control weaknesses and offer solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Professional ethics, motivation for tax career, mentoring skills.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and strong Excel skills; IT controls awareness.
